TVS Apache RTR 310 Review – Bidirectional Quickshifter, Cruise Control, and 34 PS Engine Make it the Best Value Streetfighter

TVS Apache RTR 310 Review – The TVS Apache RTR 310 is the top naked streetfighter of the TVS Motor Company and it is designed as a sibling for the fully-faired Apache RR 310. The RTR 310 mixes aggressive appearance with advanced electronics and it sets a new standard for the 300-400cc segment by providing higher performance, technology, and overall value.

Engine

The 312.2 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, reverse-inclined engine, which was jointly developed with BMW Motorrad, is the heart of the RTR 310. It generates 35.6 PS at 9,700 rpm and 28.7 Nm of peak torque at 6,650 rpm, thus promoting a very strong mid-range burst. The throttle-by-wire control gives an accurate response while the reverse-inclined design helps to position the engine close to the center of the bike for better agility and controllability, thus making it useful for both city and highway riding.

Technology

The RTR 310 has many advanced features among which most of them are first in the segment while some are rare in the price category. Some of the notable features are a bidirectional quickshifter for no-clutch upshifts and downshifts, cruise control, five riding modes (Urban, Rain, Sport, Track, Supermoto), cornering ABS, cornering traction control with a 6-axis IMU, and a climate-controlled seat in top variants. A 5-inch TFT digital cockpit with Bluetooth, navigation, and analytics rounds off the top-notch tech package.

Ergonomics

The motorcycle takes on a comfortable streetfighter position with an upright body, flat handlebars, slightly rear-set footpegs, and a reachable 800 mm seat height. It has a low kerb weight of 169 kg which makes it easy to handle in crowded places. The Build-to-Order (BTO) Dynamic Kit allows riders to have full control of the front and rear suspension thus allowing them to set up for handling and comfort either for city riding or for the track.

Verdict

The TVS Apache RTR 310 is an excellent option considering its aggressive pricing, rich features, and good mid-range performance. Moreover, the entry-level model also has luxury features like cruise control, traction control, and a complete TFT dashboard, and the fully loaded BTO options can compete with or even outshine the KTM 390 Duke in terms of features. Riders who want all these things—technology, performance, and style—will have no choice but to pick the RTR 310.
