Nissan Tekton 2026 – The Creta-Rival Launching May 2026 on the New CMF-B Duster Platform

Nissan Tekton 2026 – The Indian SUV market will be electrified by Nissan’s launch of the all-new Tekton in May 2026. The bold move entails repositioning the Tekton as a serious contender to famous compact SUVs, like the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos, it is not just a facelift or a rebranding but a strategic attempt to win back part of the market share that Nissan lost in the segment in India. The SUV is built on the highly localized CMF-B platform, which supports the next-generation Renault Duster, and the Tekton will combine the strengths of a rugged SUV with modern technology and luxury features.

Platform

With the CMF-B platform, the Tekton is at the top of the line in terms of safety and flexibility. It can also allow Nissan to use the latest engines and features while still keeping the share of localization high, thus helping to keep pricing competitive. The SUV is expected to offer 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission as standard. A strong hybrid variant is also going through the evaluation process which indicates that Nissan is looking to protect itself from rivals like the Creta Hybrid and Grand Vitara. Furthermore, there is a chance that the company will offer an all-wheel-drive version, thereby enhancing the vehicle’s off-road capability which is a rare feature in this segment.

Design

From a design perspective, the Tekton looks to the Nissan Patrol for the brawny muscular stance of its top-tier global SUV. The first thing that catches the eye is the grille at the front with the C-shaped LED DRLs on either side while the big wheel wells and the heavy plastic covering bring out the rugged side of the vehicle. At the back of the car is a contemporary full-width LED light bar, and like the double-C motif at the doors which is a subtle reference to the Indian design, there are also other small yet significant hints from the Indian market that the manufacturer is targeting.

Interior

The Tekton, when looked at from inside, tries to win over auto lovers with a lavish and very modern tech kind of cabin. The dashboard will, as a rule, be overshadowed by a huge over 10 inches floating touchscreen infotainment system while the instrument cluster, which is fully digital, and the multi-layered design of the dashboard with the combination of gloss black and copper will be in the background. Supply of safety features such as Level 2 ADAS, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and six airbags will cover most variants and it is expected that safety will be offered as the priority. Cabin experience is further enhanced by comfort features like ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree camera.

Price

The Tekton’s expected pricing range of ₹10.5 lakh to ₹18 lakh (Ex-Showroom) gives the manufacturer a very good position against the conquering kings of the segment. Being protégé to the new Renault Duster, the Tekton is very much the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s boldest strategy in India for a very long time. Its triumph could set Nissan’s SUV strategy to a new map, going beyond the Magnite and making a firm grip in the mid-size SUV sector.
