Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Launch – Maruti Suzuki is making a monumental move into the Indian electric vehicle market by releasing its first-ever fully electric SUV, the e-Vitara. The matting of this model to the market is seen as the turning point in the EV transition since the largest automobile manufacturer in the country has pledged to electric mobility of full scale. The same model is currently selling in more than 100 markets across the globe, and it is the time for the Indian debut via the brand’s premium NEXA network, which is the case with other markets too.
Launch
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara’s official launch is set for December 2, 2025. It will be positioned in the premium EV SUV segment, and the price is expected to be between ₹18.00 lakh and ₹22.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The e-Vitara will be produced at Suzuki’s Hansalpur plant in Gujarat, which will also be the global hub for exports. After its launch, it is expected to compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and Mahindra BE 6.

Design
The e-Vitara has a bold and muscular stance in conjunction with a modern SUV silhouette. It has a design language that is very futuristic and at the same time very practical as it combines sharp lines and clean surfacing. The skateboard platform for the electric vehicle allows a long wheelbase and wide cabin area, which in turn helps the vehicle in being very assertive on the road. Its identity is further refined by the signature styling theme of NEXA that consists of slim DRLs, connected tail lamps, and aerodynamic wheels.
Battery
This electric vehicle is developed on the new HEARTECT-e modular skateboard platform that has been co-engineered with Toyota. Maruti Suzuki is going to provide the e-Vitara with two battery pack variants—49 kWh and 61 kWh. The large 61 kWh variant is meant to achieve a certified range of more than 500 km on one charge thus making it one of the longest-ranging EVs in the segment. The 49 kWh option would be a good fit for a city user providing more than 400 km of range.

Performance
The launch lineup will include an integrated e-Axle up Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) system. The estimated output of the 61 kWh FWD model will be about 174 bhp and 189 Nm of torque that will guarantee quick acceleration and smooth power transition. It is also anticipated that the globally available AllGrip-e Dual-Motor AWD setup will be added to the Indian portfolio in the future.
Interior
The interior is very comfortable, as it has a modern, tech-oriented layout and is spacious for seating. The interior is defined by the use of high-quality materials, multi-layered textures, and the perfect integration of screens. The back-seat passengers have the option of sliding and reclining which allows them to have a comfortable ride as well as a place for their suitcases, therefore the e-Vitara is suitable for both city trips and long travels.
Features
The e-Vitara will be the most-loaded car in terms of features that Maruti will ever sell in India. The cockpit layout consists of a dual-screen system with a 10.25-inch infotainment display alongside a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV provides front seats that are ventilated, a driver seat that is power-adjusted in 10 ways, a panoramic/fixed glass sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and an Infinity by Harman premium sound system. On the other hand, safety is guaranteed with Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which includes features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Automatic Emergency Braking.
