Maruti eVX: The EV (electric vehicle) segment in India is on the brink of a big upheaval. Maruti Suzuki, the largest auto manufacturer in India, is finally making its much-awaited entry with the eVX (Electric Versatile Cruiser), which might start its journey as the Suzuki e-Vitara. Having been presented as a concept at the global level, the eVX has the potential to overcome the most pressing issue of the Indian electric vehicle market: the hesitation of potential users to buy them. With a range as high as 550 km, it vows to be one of the most substantial electric SUV introductions in a long time.

Range
Maruti has bestowed upon the eVX the title ‘550 km Range Starter’ due to its 60 kWh battery, which offers an impressive range without compromising on Maruti’s trust in their service and support network. The eVX sets a new record in the case of non-luxury electric vehicles and serves as a reasonable, economical solution for Indian consumers who are reluctant to go for electric mobility changes.

Specs
The Maruti eVX is a product of collaboration with Toyota and will use the specially designed “Skateboard EV Platform” (27PL). This entirely new kind of structure is the reason behind the remarkable performance. Features expected to be available include a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery for high-end models, a driving range of 550 km, single and dual motor (2WD and AWD/4WD) options, fast DC charging that will take around 30 minutes to go from 0 to 80%, and a power output of 140 hp to 175 hp (for the dual motor model). The vehicle is expected to measure 4,300 mm in length which is the same as that of Creta and Seltos.
Design
The production model does not deviate from the eVX concept’s bold and modern styling and in fact, it comes with a few more practical enhancements. The front shows off the SUV’s dominating presence, features sharp LED lights at the front and at the rear, and there is a blanked-off grille to indicate its electric identity, and the body shape is such that it minimizes air resistance thus using battery power more efficiently.

Interior
The interior of the cabin is expected to be a place of advanced technology. It may possibly have a floating dual-screen setup consisting of a digital instrument panel for the driver and a 10.25-inch or 12.3-inch touchscreen interactive media system. Other things that might be included are front seats with air conditioning, a sunroof for the whole room, and Suzuki Connect providing modern connected car technologies.
Safety
It is highly likely that Maruti will include a total of six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) in the eVX, which will mean a significant leap for the company in the domain of safety and technology.
Launch
The upcoming model has been presented to the world already. In the Indian market, the launch is expected sometime in late 2025 or early 2026. The anticipated ex-showroom price is in the range of ₹18 Lakh to ₹25 Lakh, which places the car directly against the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and the Hyundai Creta EV that is yet to come
