Mahindra XUV700 Facelift: Mahindra has set out a strategy plan for the much-awaited and the most popular SUV XUV700. The update is rumored to be very massive; the company is flying high with its expectation of XUV700 after the facelift. It might not only be with electrification aspects but also the new name XUV 7XO. Trademark respective filings along with the production-ready test mules that were caught on camera and seen on roads are all pointing towards the revival of Mahindra’s flagship identity. If the vehicle comes out with this new badge, then it is going to be a bold step in Mahindra’s overall game plan for premium SUVs.
Rename as XUV 3XO
While everyone is talking about it, Mahindra’s trademark application of XUV 7XO is the issue that raises the most questions. If the last naming of the brand’s strategy is considered, the facelift of the XUV300 was rebranded as the XUV 3XO, thus, it is aligned with the current branding strategy of the company. It seems that now the company will probably want to give its SUVs a more contemporary and uniform naming style throughout. While not yet formally acknowledged, the trademark and test mules already prepared for the facelift make the name change pretty certain. A new name could be a masterstroke by Mahindra in terms of positioning the vehicle that way, i.e., as a more premium, next-level one.

Design
The XUV700’s facelifted variant has already undergone several rounds of camouflaged spy photography and evident improvement is the one common denominator. Among the major feature changes are a more vertical multi-slated front grill, dual-pod projector LED headlamps, modified bumpers and new alloy wheel designs that have given the SUV a sharper more assertive look. Contrary to experimental prototype components, these features look very much to be of production quality. The overall picture is one of bolder and more aerodynamic stance making the SUV visually stronger than the current XUV700.
Cabin
Mahindra is already very much considering how to make its interior even more luxurious during this time. The higher variants may well see triple-screen digital layout, upgraded audio, multi-color ambient lighting, and new comfort-rich features such as second-row seats that can slide and front seats with massage function. It seems the goal is quite clear

Engine
Mahindra is believed to stick to its tried and tested powertrains which are the 2.2L diesel and 2.0L turbo-petrol engines. The performance numbers are not expected to change; however, Mahindra may make slight adjustments to the overall refinement and response of the engine. If the SUV with the new “7XO” badge, a slight price hike can be expected to cover the updated styling and the new features.
Launch
By the end of 2025, Mahindra will likely be not only the facelifted but also the never-named new model of the XUV700. The new model will be a good catch for customers who like premium SUVs due to a new identity, a new design, and an upgraded cabin technology. For those who have planned to buy the current XUV700, waiting for the official reveal might not be a bad idea.
