Among other things, the company has teased a futuristic design along with a triple-screen dashboard, second-row seating with Boss Mode, large panoramic sunroof, and more, which clearly indicates that Mahindra has set its sights on buyers looking for a combination of luxury, space, and high-tech gadgets in an electric vehicle. The XEV 9S is rumored to have an astonishing driving range of over 500 km in real-world conditions, paving its way to being one of the most feature-rich family EVs in India.
Design
Mahindra XEV 9S is a bold new electric vehicle which will be easily recognized from far. It does not have the ordinary XUV700 lighting arrangement, but rather, it has stacked LED headlamps in conjunction with a closed-off grill and a light bar that spans across the width. The boomerang-shaped LED DRLs create an aggressive and futuristic look for this car. The new design path clearly indicates that the XEV 9S is an electric vehicle, thus it will not be mistaken for the ICE ones from Mahindra, and it hopes to be recognized right away as a premium all-electric SUV designed for the modern Indian family.
Cabin
The interior of the Mahindra XEV 9S is highlighted by the use of wide triple-screen dashboard layout, thus, the car is luxurious and technologically advanced. The light interior color theme, the soft creases, the Twin Peaks two-spoke steering wheel, and the metal-finish add-up to the upscale feel of the cabin. The second row has the addition of Boss Mode with reclining seats for the utmost comfort that catches your attention. The panoramic sunroof is very large and it runs right across the cabin, making an airy and luxurious experience for drivers who carry partners along and who value space and ambiance being especially for them.

Comfort
Mahindra wants to make the XEV 9S the family—car of the future, which will be extremely comfortable. The second row of seats has been given special preference for its luxurious legroom and lounge-type seating. Although the teaser does not give away much regarding the third row, the area seems perfect for full seven-seat practicality. The SUV’s premium nature is enhanced by the addition of ventilated seats with power adjustment and memory functions for the front passengers. Contributions to the daily convenience are made by wireless charging, multiple USB ports, and smart storage areas.
Technology
The XEV 9S comes with a full-digital ecosystem that is spread over the three screens and consists of infotainment, vehicle information, and connected car features. The car is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, which includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist, thus ensuring greater safety on highways. Moreover, the 360-degree camera, 6 standard airbags, adjustable headrests, and driver alerts add to the passenger’s security. The tech features are believed to be being kept up to date over time via OTA-upgrades.

Performance
The XEV 9S is going to be the first Mahindra EV to be built on the company’s modular INGLO platform, which will share various parts with the XEV 9e and BE 6. The same motor and battery options will probably be available, but the performance stats might vary slightly because of the increased size and weight of the three-row structure. However, Mahindra intends to provide a real-world driving range of more than 500 km on a single charge, thus making it suitable for long-distance trips. The electric system will provide seamless power delivery, noiseless running, and carefree highway driving.
Launch
Mahindra XEV 9S will be available for sale in Bengaluru on 27 November 2025, which will be the start of the brand’s first all-electric three-row SUV. It will be positioned above the current two-row electric vehicles and would be directly competing the premium family EV segment. The pricing and variant details will be made public at the time of the launch, which will give the customers a better idea of where it stands in comparison with competitors. The XEV 9S has a premium cabin, futuristic design, and a long electric range, so it is expected to be one of Mahindra’s most significant EV launches so far.
