Mahindra XEV 9S – With the introduction of Mahindra XEV 9e – the company’s new flagship and formerly known as the XUV.e9 in concept – Mahindra has confirmed its presence in the premium electric vehicle league. The automobile, which was launched in 2024, is a turning point for the brand and consists of a powerful SUV with high electric performance of its own with the modern luxury of a coupe-style roof line that is aerodynamically shaped.

Design
Mahindra’s new EV looks gorgeous with its long coupe-shaped figure towering over an enormous 4.8-metre body. The sporty tail follows from the steeply sloping roofline while the wide LED DRL signature and the copper-accented Twin Peaks logo denote Mahindra’s future EV design language. The INGLO platform promises a very efficient use of space and a huge boot of 663-litre plus 150-litre frunk for storage.

Performance
The Mahindra XEV 9e is built upon the eventual EV INGLO skateboard platform that performance very much. The top-spec 79 kWh battery yields 282 bhp and 380 Nm maximum which makes the SUV’s 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.8 seconds, according to the claim. Up to 180 kW DC fast charging support allows the battery to be charged from 20–80% in roughly 20 minutes, while the MIDC-certified range is up to 656 km depending on the variant.
Interior
With the triple-screen dashboard configuration, the cabin takes a futuristic turn. It is composed of three 12.3-inch displays — instrument cluster, infotainment, and a dedicated passenger screen. There is 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control and a big panoramic sunroof that all together raise the luxury experience. The new two-spoke steering wheel with touch controls completes the tech-centric cockpit.

Safety
The XEV 9e is very safe thanks to its numerous advanced safety features. The ADAS Level 2+ technology allows such safety functions as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Auto Emergency Braking. Furthermore, it includes 7 airbags, 360-degree camera, Electronic Stability Control and a Driver Monitoring System. The integration of the INGLO battery system not only strengthens crash safety but also enhances thermal safety, thus, Mahindra’s promise of EV reliability is backed.

Price & Launch
The XEV 9e has been launched in 2024 and its price range is set between ₹21.90 lakh and ₹31.25 lakh (ex-showroom) according to the charging arrangement and battery size. The premium electric SUV classification is occupied by the XEV 9e which is considered a bold, vibrant, new player and also a competitor for BYD Atto 3 and Tata Harrier EV in the future.
