Mahindra XEV 9S: Mahindra is about to unveil the new XEV 9S, the Indian automaker’s newest three-row electric SUV to be Sold under the Born Electric category, which is the brand’s last electric SUV lineup. The brand has already announced a significant design detail in the form of the new stacked headlamp layout, whilst the company has released new teasers revealing the last of the design details that had only been noticed on the test mules before. The new lights will not only be a dramatic shift from the design of the current XUV700 but also will draw it closer to the futuristic XUV.e8 concept revealed back in 2022.
Design
The new XEV 9S has a very powerful and State of the Art futuristic exterior design. The confirmatory statement regarding the presence of stacked headlamps as part of the final production model has been a turning point giving a new distinct identity to the SUV. The previous teasers hinted at a very smooth and aerodynamic profile having a clean roofline and modern front and rear LED signatures and the like. With its wide body and electric vehicle dedicated styling, the XEV 9S will be the most advanced electric SUV in the three-row segment which will be a great asset for Mahindra.
Cabin
The interior of the XEV 9S is a continuation of Mahindra’s modern EV theme. The cockpit will have a triple-screen that will give a very vibrant and friendly atmosphere to the in-car experience. The cabin is all dark-colored which adds to its sports and upscale appeal. The third row has not been unveiled yet and this makes one wonder how Mahindra will manage to give seating space and battery packing in this electric architecture overall.
Powertrain
The XEV 9S is the third car in this new battery electric vehicle family and therefore is supposed to take powertrain characteristics from the XEV 9e and the BE 6. The company has not disclosed the exact specifications but the SUV will offer a very conducive environment with strong performance, long range, and fast charging facility as per Mahindra’s Born Electric standards. The three-row layout will be the only difference thus making it the first full-size family EV SUV of the brand.
Launch
Mahindra officially announced that the XEV 9S will be launched on November 27, 2023. The SUV will be part of the Born-Electric collection alongside the XEV 9e and BE 6. Based on its dimensions, features, and electric vehicle platform, the XEV 9S is likely to set a price range of Rs 21 lakh to Rs 30 lakh, making it a premium offer for those looking for an electric SUV that offers the comfort of seven seats, loaded with features and ready for the future.
