KTM RC 160: The next KTM RC 160 has stirred up quite a bit of anticipation already, considering it has been seen undergoing tests and so has given the fans a sneak peek of KTM’s upcoming faired motorcycle. The next bike indeed has the brand’s signature sharp and aggressive RC design with angular panels and a sporty stance and is even looking almost ready for production. It is intended for the market segment below the RC 200, thereby making premium faired-bike experience available at a more economical price for those riders who want style and performance but are not ready to spend a lot.

The new RC 160’s fierce look hides its close relationship to the 160 Duke with regard to the hardware under the skin. The bike will share a lot of components, including the same frame, 17-inch alloy wheels and brake system, which might probably mean that the motorcycle will have very similar characteristics to KTM i.e. it will be light, agile and very responsive. The company is taking a smart approach by giving the RC 160 these parts, as it is going to be making a very good handling and comfortable ride, beginner riders and young ones new to the faired bike segment will find the bike to be very encouraging. The position of the rider also seems to be very much oriented to the track, thereby keeping the sporty character that is very much KTM’s own.

The primary power source of RC 160 is the new 164cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that comes from the 160 Duke. This engine offers 19bhp and 15.5Nm of torque, which can be said to be the parameters of a strong competitor with the Yamaha R15. The RC 160 is equipped with a six-speed gearbox, thus it guarantees attractive performance and good acceleration for both the city riders and highway enthusiasts. While the R15 is appreciated for its smoothness and stability, the RC 160 might just win in terms of power and sportiness in terms of handling, making it a tough contender in the segment of 150-160cc performance motorcycles.

It is also a possibility that the KTM RC 160 will easily sell if it bears a good price and become one of the most preferred models of the company along with the Yamaha R15, direct competition to which it will be.
