Kia EV5 SUV Launch in India by December 2026 – Premium Electric Mid-Size SUV Details

Kia EV5 SUV – The Kia EV5 has been confirmed to reach India, although the launch date has been moved back, contrary to previous reports, to around December 2026 instead of the much earlier March. While Kia India has not yet declared an official timing, automotive specialists say that the EV5 will be a great part of the company’s mass-market electric vehicle push, since it will be aimed at premium buyers of mid-size electric SUVs and positioned just below the existing Kia EV6.

Launch

The EV5 is going to get the wait till the end of 2026 as a solid challenger to the Ioniq 5 from Hyundai, BYD Atto 3, and even future Crossover, that is, Skoda Elroq, among others. The SUV is designed for early adopters who want state-of-the-art EV technology and are lured by the combination of range, performance, and features. Kia mentions that the standard version will have a range of about 530 km while the long-range one could go up to 720 km, so the car will perfectly suit Indian road conditions and highway driving.

The new Kia EV5 is expected to be equipped with cutting-edge technologies, including ADAS (Advanced Driver assistance systems), featuring among others lane-keeping assist, smart cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking. The V2L (Vehicle-to-load) function will enable charging devices or other electric machines directly from the car, which will be an increasingly useful feature for EV users.
