Hyundai Inster EV, the company’s latest all-electric Micro-SUV, is aimed particularly at city dwellers. The Inster, with its small size, noiseless operation, and up-to-date EV functions, intends to be among the most practical and inexpensive electric vehicles for Indian consumers. Design
Hyundai Inster EV is following a global Hyundai EVs design language which is clean and very youthful. Power
Hyundai Inster EV will come with two battery packs, one Standard Range model and one Long Range model. It is quite likely that the Standard version will have a 42 kWh battery which will provide a range of more than 300 km per charge. The Long Range version is likely to be equipped with a 49 kWh battery pack which will give a range of 355 km as per company’s claim. Both configurations are tuned for urban use with quick undetectable acceleration, noiseless travel, and comfy EV driving experience.
Battery
The Inster EV is capable of fast DC charging and the maximum charging rate is 85 kW. If you have a fast charger that is compatible, then the battery will take about 30 minutes to get charged from 10% to 80%. This is an advantage for public charging during quick breaks. Home charging via the standard wall charger will take longer but it is a good choice for overnight charging. Hyundai is planning to put Evs across the globe with the hassle-free charging access and plug and go.
Drive
In the city, the Inster EV’s small size is a great asset while driving through also the high seat position gives you confidence to drive and the electric motor gives you the luxury of instant power as a result of no gear shifts. The Micro-SUV size makes it much easier to find parking in off-street areas and the smooth operation of the silent EV reduces stress and fatigue. Apart from 6 airbags in the highest trims, the expected safety features include electronic stability control and a 360-degree camera.
Price
be the brand’s most affordable electric SUV in India in the case of Inster EV. The price of the model at launch is expected to be in the range of ₹9 lakh and ₹12 lakh ex-showroom depending on the variant. This will lead to a direct competition of the model with Tata Punch EV and other entry-level electric vehicles in the segment once it is available in the market.
