2026 Mahindra XUV700 Facelift – Rebrands as XUV 7XO with Triple-Screen Dash

2026 Mahindra XUV700 Facelift – The Mahindra XUV700 is going to get its biggest update ever since its 2021 launch, and the 2026 facelift will bring a new identity in the form of the new name, XUV7XO. This step is in line with Mahindra’s modern alphanumeric naming scheme, like the XUV3XO facelift. Apart from the new moniker, the SUV will be subject to major tech and cosmetic changes intended to put it in a stronger position in the market against its challengers such as the Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar etc. Production is anticipated to begin in December 2025, with a market launch in January 2026.

Interior

The inside of the XUV7XO is the apt place to see the facelift of the model. A new innovative three-screen dashboard will be available on the top-end variants consisting of the instrument cluster, central infotainment screen, and a separate display for the front passenger. This highly futuristic arrangement is such that it does not only bring a new feel of premium high-tech but also matches it with the SUVs in the much higher price range. The other new features include the front seats with the massage function, ventilated throne seats for the six-seat version, Harman Kardon sound with Dolby Atmos, auto-dimming IRVM, and improved ambient lighting. All these changes have really taken the comfort level in the cabin to a much higher one compared to that of the existing XUV700.

Exterior

The XUV7XO retains the basic shape of the present SUV but the facelift has the effect of making it not only sharper but bolder and thus more modern in terms of the design. The front end will have a more erect grille with vertical slats and a re-shaped bumper with bigger air intakes as the most noticeable changes in the front. The headlights have been upgraded to dual-pod LED projectors with new DRL signatures that are very much inspired by the Scorpio N. Wheels have been designed to optimize aerodynamics and their size may go up to 19 inches as a possible maximum, and at the rear, the SUV has a revised lighting scheme for the LED taillights that may be accompanied by a light bar running across the width of the rear, thereby giving the SUV a more contemporary and assertive stance.

Engine and Performance

From a mechanical standpoint, the XUV7XO still uses the same engines as the XUV700 which have been tried and tested. The buyers are required to have the 2.0L mStallion Turbo-Petrol with around 200 PS as well as the 2.2L mHawk Turbo-Diesel producing about 185 PS. The engines are to be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the option for AWD will still be available for some diesel automatic variants. The SUV’s remarkable performance and notable presence are to be unaffected, thus promising the same reliability but with more technology.

Safety and Technology

The 2026 XUV7XO will be provided with an enhanced Level 2+ ADAS package that will allow the vehicle to park itself, control speed according to the distance with the vehicle in front, keep the car in the lane and more. Mahindra is going to keep on protecting the lives of the car occupants by using the existing SUV’s mechanical robustness and advanced driver-assist technology.

Flexible seating arrangements continue with the option of a 5-seater or a 7-seater configuration still available. As part of the facelift, a 6-seater variant with second-row captain seats is also introduced, which offers the combination of luxury and practicality for family buyers.

Price

The XUV7XO, which will be equipped with the triple-screen dashboard, massaging seats, and advanced ADAS, is likely to be priced with a premium of ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh over the present XUV700. This updated SUV keeps Mahindra in the game contrasting its rivals the Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus, and it also strengthens the company’s position in the feature-rich, three-row SUV segment.
