Upcoming New Car 2023: These five new cars will be launched in India in January; know details

Car manufacturers in India are starting the new year with a slew of new launches. January will be a full month of launches and unveils as there is just over a week left for the Auto Expo 2023 to be held after three years. Several car manufacturers have already confirmed the launch of their upcoming models. However, the official dates for some have yet to be announced. The cars launched in India this month will mostly be SUVs.

MG Hector 2023

2022 has been a record year for the British carmaker in India. MG Motor (MG Motor) started releasing the upcoming new generation Hector SUV teaser a few months ago. Recently, much information about Hector 2023 has been leaked. MG Hector 2023 (MG Hector 2023) SUV will come with a new look that will see a more aggressive grille and slimmer headlight units, new bumpers and many exterior changes. MG Motor has already confirmed that there will be a new 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system dashboard inside the new Hector. This will be the biggest infotainment screen available in any car in the compact SUV segment. ADAS functionality will also be available in the new Hector.

BMW X1 2023

Last year, BMW introduced the new generation X1, the entry-level SUV from the German auto giant, in the global markets. Now, the new X1 SUV is headed to India. On January 7, BMW will bring the new SUV and a few other models to India. In its latest generation, the BMW X1 2023 (BMW X1 2023) has grown in size, and some design changes have been made to its exterior. BMW will introduce a new digital infotainment system inside the cabin, much bigger than the current generation model sold in India. BMW is expected to offer the new X1 with three engine options, including 1.5-litre petrol and 2.0-litre petrol and diesel units.

BMW X7 2023

Among other BMW models, the flagship is the X7 facelift (X7 Facelift) SUV. The new BMW X7 2023 (BMW X7 2023), to be offered in two trims, will have a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline 6-cylinder petrol engine that generates a power of 352 hp. The diesel engine will generate a power of around 352hp. BMW is also likely to offer 48V mild-hybrid technology with both engines. Regarding changes, the new X7 will come with a tweed front grille with a signature kidney shape, cascade grille lighting and split LED headlamps with LED DRLs. Coming to the interiors, the X7 2023 will come with a completely revised dashboard, replacing the conventional layout with a larger curved screen.

BMW 7 Series

The third model of the German auto giant BMW 7 Series (BMW 7 Series) can make headlines for the entertainment screen provided for the passengers sitting in the rear seat. The car’s roof will feature a 31.3-inch 8K giant screen that can be retracted when unused. It promises to change the world of in-car entertainment in India. The 7 Series will come with 3.0-litre petrol and diesel units with 48V mild hybrid technology.

Mahindra Thar 2-wheel drive

Mahindra and Mahindra are also expected to launch a more affordable variant of the Thar off-road SUV in India in January 2023. The SUV has already been spied on, and all the changes have been revealed. The Mahindra Thar 2-wheel drive (Mahindra Thar 2-wheel drive) version will be positioned below the 4-wheel drive and will see very few cosmetic changes on the inside or the exterior. It will offer auto start/stop functionality and a lock/unlock button in the centre console. The SUV will be offered as rear-wheel drive and will get 2.0-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines.
