Toyota has launched the Urban Cruiser Highrider and the Innova Highcross in the country in the last few months. The news is that the company is preparing to bring its new coupe SUV to the Indian market. The company is about to get a large three-row SUV, the Corolla Cross. This car will compete with Mahindra XUV 700 and Hyundai Alcazar. Toyota competes with Corolla Cross, Hyundai Creta and Honda HR-V in the global market. The SUV gets a wheelbase of 2,640mm. The new Toyota Corolla Cross 7-seater SUV will be based on the TNGA-C platform, which has also been used for the Innova Highcross. Powertrain, like Innova Highcross, can be found in this car.

Currently, the 5-seater model of the Corolla Cross with the global model gets a wheelbase of 2,640mm, but in its 7-seater version, it can increase by about 150 mm. The company currently sells the Fortuner in the 3-row SUV segment, which is priced very high in the market. The new Corolla Cross will be brought under the Fortuner in the company’s line-up.

Flexible seats will be seen in the new Toyota Corolla Cross 7-seater SUV, which can be folded backwards. An electric tailgate can be found in this car. The rear doors will be longer for easy entry into the third row. Some changes are possible in its C and D pillars. A large glass area can be seen in the back row. Being a TNGA-C platform, it could get torsion beam suspension or a full multi-link suspension.

Two engine options can be seen in it, which have also been used in the new Innova Highcross. This car can get a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol with a power output of 172bhp and a 2.0-litre petrol equipped with self-charging strong hybrid technology with an output of 186bhp.

This car will compete with the XUV 700 in the Indian market. In which both diesel and petrol engine options are available. ADAS security system is also available with a lot of features in it. Its starting price is around 14 lakh rupees.
