The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is being repurposed as the Toyota Vitz, which will be on purchase in South Africa in the latter part of this season. Toyota unveiled the Vitz, a new, reasonably priced hatchback, during its State of the Motor Industry (SOMI) event, which was held in Johannesburg. It will officially go on sale in the second quarter of this year and serve as the entrance point for the Japanese car major’s product lineup in South Africa. The Vitz, which is really the Celerio with a different name, is the most recent product to result from Toyota’s alliance with Suzuki.

Later in 2021, the second-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio was introduced on the Indian industry, and South Africa became the first nation to receive a rebranded version.
