Tata Motors currently dominates the electric passenger car segment with over 80 per cent market share. The company aims to produce 1 lakh electric vehicles in the country to meet the growing demand. Tata Motors currently sells the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max. The domestic automaker has confirmed that Punch Electric will soon join its EV line-up.

As a reminder, Tata Motors showcased the Altroz electric pre-production model at the 2020 Auto Expo. The production-ready model has already been spotted testing several times on Indian roads. It is expected that the Punch EV can be launched before the Altroz EV. We expect the new Tata Punch EV to debut at the 2023 Auto Expo. It will be positioned between the Tigor EV and the Nexon EV Prime.

Punch EV Features

The Tata Punch EV will directly rival the Citroen eC3, slated to be launched in the first quarter of 2023. Reports suggest that the Electric Punch could offer two battery options ranging from around 300km to 350km.

These features will also be present.

The Punch EV is likely to share features with the ICE variant. It is expected to get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic AC, powered ORVMs, cruise control, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and more. The model is also expected to get multi-mode regenerative braking, traction control, iTPMS, leather upholstery and more.
