Tata introduced Altroz CNG and Punch CNG at Auto Expo 2023; they will get such features

At the Auto Expo 2023, Tata Motor showcased several Electric Vehicles (EVs), including Harrier EV, Sierra EV, and Avinya EV Concept. Along with these, the carmaker showcased the CNG versions of its popular models – the Altroz hatchback and the Punches mini SUV. Although the carmaker has not yet revealed the launch details of Tata Altroz CNG and Punch CNG, both are likely to be available for sale this year.

Tata Altroz CNG

The Tata Altroz CNG will be offered a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine, which will be mated to a factory-fitted CNG kit. There will be a marginal drop in power output on CNG (by 10bhp-15bhp, compared to petrol). The regular petrol unit generates 110bhp power and 140Nm torque. Although the price of the CNG version may be higher by about 60 to 70 thousand rupees compared to the regular petrol version, it will be more economical to run. The CNG hatchback will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Tata Punch CNG

Tata Punch CNG will get the 1.2L 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine with the current model. However, there will be a slight drop in power and torque on CNG. In CNG mode, it will take around 70-75bhp of power and around 100Nm of torque. Its mileage is expected to be around 30km/kg. It will be made available with a manual gearbox only. The interior of the Punch CNG gets sporty red accents in many places.

The factory-fitted CNG kit will likely be offered on the lower and mid-level variants. It will get dual airbags, ABS with EBD, central locking, tilt adjustable steering, front power windows and 15-inch steel wheels as standard fitment. The mid-spec CNG variant will include features like a multi-functional steering wheel, 4-inch display and audio system with 4 speakers, remote key lock/unlock, power windows, powered ORVMs, and follow-me-home headlamps.
