With the introduction of the Harrier EV prototype, Tata Motors is preparing to enter the EV market with its largest configuration yet. The vehicle is now on show at the Greater Noida 2023 Auto Expo. The brand-new Tata Harrier EV is built on the business’s first “Born Electric” infrastructure, which can support a variety of body types with two and three rows of seats. The brand’s electrified drivetrains skateboard layout is demonstrated by the EV ideas for how adaptable and versatile it is.
The lighted “T” emblem that spans the back of the forthcoming Tata Harrier EV conceptual car can be seen on its frontal fascia. The Tata Passenger Electric Mobility business of Tata Motors has a distinctive emblem.
According to the automaker, the Born Electric framework was created from the interior out with an emphasis on the internals. The EV concept’s upholstery hasn’t yet been made public by the automaker. It will reportedly include a lounge-like layout, cutting-edge technology, complete connection, and unmanned assistance. Tata Curvy, a Hyundai Creta competitor, will be unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo.
It is asserted that the specialised Gen 3 (Born Electric) architecture from Tata is unrestricted by the manufacturing and layout limitations of an IC engine-based substrate. It is challenging to electrify the ICE-powered Harrier and Safari SUVs that support the Omega Arc framework, which is effectively Land Rover’s D8 design. According to rumours, the Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV might make their commercial debuts in early 2025.
Tata Motors unveiled its three-platform EV plan in 2022, which would encompass the whole EV market until 2030. These three components are a modified external ignition propulsion system platform, a custom electrified vehicle (EV) architecture (Born Electric/Gen 3), and a hoverboard. The future Altroz EV, Punch EV, and Sierra EV will be built on the Sigma chassis, while Tata’s next-generation EVs will utilise its specific skateboard layout.
