The new Carnival MPV from Kia was formally advertised before its launch in India. It might launch at a later date in 2023.
In 2018, just as it was poised to launch its services in India, Kia India made its Auto Expo premiere. Kia has quickly risen to prominence among OEM producers. The forthcoming 2023 Auto Expo will feature numerous new cars that Kia will display. Kia has affirmed its engagement.
In 2020, the KA4—Carnival’s fourth-generation model—was unveiled to the world. Interestingly, the global introduction of the 4th generation model was only a few weeks away when Kia introduced the remastered third-generation Carnival to India. And now that the remastered Kia Carnival has been spotted, Kia is preparing to debut the current Carnival.
Kia Carnival India Teaser – Codename KA4
With the redesign, Kia attempted to style the MPV like an SUV. It is substantially bigger than any other MPV in the industry, measuring 5,156mm in length (or 3rd gen Carnival). There are three different seating arrangements: 7-seater, 9-seater, and 11-seater.
The MPV comes equipped with a 12.3-inch display entertainment system and a console panel of comparable size. A 3-zone temperature control system, wireless charging, powered front seats, numerous airbags, forward collision aid, and adaptive cruise monitoring are included in top-tier versions. Carnival has two engine choices in foreign markets: a 2.2-litre turbo diesel and a 3.5-litre gasoline engine. But it’s anticipated that the only engine choice for the Indian market would be diesel.
In addition to Carnival, Kia will display a variety of other vehicles. The Sorento SUV may be one of them. To put the Sorento into simplified terms, think of it as the Kia version of the Hyundai Santa Fe. It is positioned below the flagship Kia SUV, the Telluride, but higher than the Sportage (the Tucson counterpart) (Palisade equivalent).
Kia Sorento 2023 Auto Expo
Ironically, Sorento won’t be at the Auto Expo for the inaugural season. In its third-gen incarnation, it made its first appearance in 2018. The fourth iteration prototype, which will be displayed at the 2023 Auto Expo, was introduced to global markets in 2020.
Although a launch soon is improbable, Kia would like to evaluate consumer enthusiasm for this three-row SUV. Only vehicles like the Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq now compete for SUV sales in India. The Sorento is available with 4 distinct propulsion configurations globally from Kia. Four of these are a 1.6-litre plug-in hybrid, a 2.5-litre turbo petrol non-hybrid, and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel. There are 6/8-speed automatic transmissions and 2WD/4WD choices available.
Some of its standout features in terms of technology comprise designers’ LED taillights, 3-pod LED headlights, a 12.3-inch digital indicator cluster, 64-colour ambient lighting, a spectacular sunroof with a 360-degree outlook, a 12-speaker Bose audio installation, and Kia’s UVO linked car technology. Additionally, vehicles with level two ADAS characteristics are released for global consumers.
