Renault-Nissan has confirmed three new models for the Indian market. The new Nissan Tirber-based 7-seater MPV, the new entry-level electric car, and the Renault Duster from a new generation are all included in the portfolio. The automobile manufacturer intends to invest close to Rs 4,000 crore in its forthcoming vehicles. By 2024–2025, the brand-new, third-generation Renault Duster will be available on our roads. The new 7-seater SUV from Nissan will be built on the CMF-B modular platform, which has undergone extensive localization.
The next Renault Duster will resemble the Dacia Bigster concept, which made its debut in early 2021 in terms of design and style. We anticipate it to have similar body panels and styling cues to the Bigster, including integrated aluminium-style skid plates, substantial fenders, and LED lighting. The production-ready SUV model might use standard door handles instead of the concept’s high-tech features.
According to reports, the next-generation Duster will have more room and be larger than the model it replaces. The latter has a length of 4341mm. Interior design elements from the Dacia Bigster concept may be present. A digital instrument cluster, a larger, free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless phone charger, updated switchgear, etc., will likely be included in the SUV’s feature set.
In terms of powertrain, the new Renault Duster may be available with a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine enhanced by 48V hybrid technology. Around 130 horsepower will be the total power output. A 1.3L turbocharged gasoline engine could be offered with the SUV. It will have an all-wheel drive system, a high ground clearance, and better approach and departure angles.
The all-new Duster will directly compete with mid-size SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun once it is released. In the near future, more information about the new SUV model is anticipated to be made public. Keep an eye on IndiaCarNews.
