Mahindra XUV400; know expected prices and other details

The first fully electric SUV from the domestic automaker, the Mahindra XUV400, is about to roll out on Indian roads. The model’s prices will be public in January (possibly at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo). As of next month, test drives will also start. However, the new Mahindra electric SUV will start shipping in February or March 2023. It will initially be made available in 16 certain cities. The three varieties of the model lineup, Base, EP, and EL, are anticipated to range in price from Rs 17 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Interestingly, the new Mahindra XUV400 will have the nation’s fastest acceleration for an electric SUV. It boasts a top speed of 150 kmph and a 0 to 100 kmph time of 8.3 seconds. Modern Li-ion battery technology is used in the EV’s 39.5kWh battery pack, which produces a combined 148bhp and 310Nm of torque. According to claims, the XUV400 can go 456 kilometres (km) on a single charge, making it the longest-range EV in its class. On a full charge, the Tata Nexon EV, its main competition, has a range of 437 kilometres.

The automaker will provide three ways to charge its new electric SUV. A 7.2kW/32A, a DC fast charger, and a 3.3kW/16A home charger will be available. A conventional home charger takes 13 hours, but a DC fast charger takes 50 minutes to charge a battery pack from 0% to 80%. A 7.2kW charger requires 6 hours and 30 minutes to charge the battery pack fully.

The Mahindra XUV400 will include a segment-first one-pedal “Lively model” with three drive modes, Fun, Fast, and Fearless. The new Mahindra electric SUV has a total of 4200mm in length and 1821mm in width. It has a wheelbase of 2600mm and is the giant boot in its class, measuring 378 litres (it can be extended up to 418 litres).
