If reports are to be believed, Hyundai may soon introduce a CNG variant of the Creta. According to reports, the CNG Creta is being tested on Indian roads. Alcazar and Venue have also been spotted testing with the CNG kit on several occasions before this.
How will the engine
According to reports, a 1.4-litre petrol engine can be given in the CNG variant of Creta. The SUV will get 138 bhp and 242 Newton meters of torque with this engine. Although running in CNG mode, the SUV will get a little less power from the engine, but this will increase the average of the SUV. According to the information, the CNG Creta can be brought only in manual transmission.
What will be the price?
The company has given no official information about this. But according to the reports, there can be a difference of about 70 to 90 thousand rupees between the ex-showroom prices of CNG and petrol variants. Prices for the current Creta start from Rs.10.44 lakhs ex-showroom and go up to Rs.18.15 lakhs ex-showroom for the top-end petrol variant. The CNG Creta is expected to be introduced in the market from the lower trim onwards, and apart from the base and top variants, the CNG option can be given in other variants (S, S+, SX).
Who will compete
After bringing Creta to CNG in this segment from Hyundai, it will compete with Toyota Highrider in the market. However, Maruti can also get a CNG variant of the Grand Vitara soon. After this, Creta will compete with CNG Highrider and Grand Vitara in the market.
