Citroën has been working on a fully electric version of the C3 hatchback for a long time. The company has recently confirmed its name, which will be called eC3. In a fresh spy picture, the upcoming Citroen eC3 EV has been spotted at a charging station next to the Tata Nexon EV. Recently the production model of this car was seen during testing. The new model is built on a new common modular platform, and many domestic components have been used in its construction. Many types of vehicles can be manufactured on CMP, i.e. Common Modular Platform, including electric vehicles.
Citroen eC3 will likely remain similar to its ICE counterpart. However, it will have green accents and a charging port on the front fender for an electrifying appeal. On the inside, expect the Citroen eC3 to be more premium than the standard model. The C3 currently gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.0-inch infotainment system with a digital instrument cluster and a host of features. With this, features like automatic AC, rear wiper and washer, electric ORVM, rear defogger and cruise control can be given.
The electric version of the Citroen C3 is expected to get a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It offers a driving range of around 300-350 km on a single charge. It will be powered by a single electric motor that will generate around 85 bhp and 140 Nm of torque. It can be expected that the eC3 will also feature fast charging.
Launching Details and Price
The all-new Citroen eC3 EV could make its India debut this month after the Auto Expo 2023. According to the report, it is speculated that the initial ex-showroom price of the new C3 Electric will be around Rs 13 lakh. When launched, the eC3 will directly rival the Tata Tiago EV. Apart from this, it will also compete with cars like Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
