BMW has launched the third generation X1 SUV in the Indian market. It is available in petrol, a diesel powertrain, and two variants – X Line and M Sport. Prices for the 2023 BMW X1 SUV start at Rs 45.95 Lakh and go up to Rs 47.90 Lakh. Both the prices are ex-showroom.

Deliveries of the X1 sDrive18d M Sport (Diesel) will commence in March, and the BMW X1 sDrive18i xLine (Petrol) will commence in June.
BMW X1 sDrive 18d M Sport is powered by a 1,995 cc, 4-cylinder Diesel engine. It produces 145 bhp and 360 Nm of peak torque output. This car accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 8.9 seconds. The BMW X1 sDrive 18i xLine is powered by a 1,499 cc, three-cylinder, petrol engine that produces 132 bhp and 230 Nm of peak torque output. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.2 seconds. Both the engines get a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission as standard.
The exteriors get minor updates as compared to the previous model. The bumpers look sportier, the grille is slightly bigger, the headlamps are sleeker, and the LED DRLs are new. On the side, there are new 18-inch alloy wheels, and flush-sitting door handles. At the rear, there are new wraparound LED tail lamps. The new BMW X1 is 53 mm longer, 24 mm wider, and 44 mm taller than the previous generation. BMW has also increased the wheelbase by 22 mm.
The interiors of the new BMW X1 have also received updates. The X1 now gets a new curved infotainment system in models like the new X7 and 7 Series. The dashboard now gets slim AC vents, and the overall cabin looks more up-market. The holstery includes the Sensetec Perforated Mocha and the Sensetec Perforated Oyster.
BMW is making the SUV available in 5 exterior paint schemes. These include Alpine White, Space Silver, Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire and M Portimao Blue (exclusive to M Sport).
BMW X1 will compete in the Indian market with cars like Mercedes-Benz GLA (Mercedes-Benz GLA), Audi Q3 (Audi Q3), Volvo XC40 (Volvo XC40) and Mini Countryman (Mini Countryman).
