MG Motors unveiled the MG5 electric car at the Auto Expo 2023. This electric car is already being sold in the markets in Europe. After being successful in foreign markets, the company will launch it in the Indian market. The speciality of this car is that it can be charged enough to run 400 km in 40 minutes. It is being said that when launched, this electric car will give tough competition to the Tata Nexon EV. The special thing is that many luxury features are available in it.
The car’s design includes a bold blanked-off front grille and swept-back sleek headlamps, which give it a great road presence. The front bumper houses the charging port in the middle. Talking about the design of the rear part of the electric car, very beautiful looking LED taillights can be seen in it.
Inside, the electric car sports a clean, good-looking design with a digital instrument panel and infotainment system. It gets a 3-spoke steering wheel, which looks futuristic. The car gets a rotating drive mode knob and a centrally mounted rectangular touchscreen infotainment system.
This electric car gets a 61.1 kWh battery pack and a front-mounted electric motor. Its range is 402 km on a single charge. This car produces a peak power of 154 Bhp and a peak torque of 256 Nm. The MG5 is sold worldwide with a set of two battery packs. The small 50.3 kWh lithium-ion battery offers a range of up to 320 km on a single charge. MG Motor also offers an 11 kW AC charger with the electric car. The company claims this car gets charged up to 80 per cent of its capacity in less than 40 minutes with a 150 kWh DC charger.
