At the Auto Expo 2023, Yamaha Motorcycles also displayed the Yamaha FZ 15 ABS flex-fuel motorcycle as an example of its technological capabilities.
The Yamaha FZ 15 ABS flex fuel motorbike, displayed at the Auto Expo 2023, is a Brazilian-spec motorcycle that has already been released in that country under the name “Fazer FZ 15” and is priced at 16,990 Brazilian Real (INR 2.69 lakh).
The Yamaha FZ 15 ABS flex fuel motorbike has already been released, unlike other flex fuel motorcycles displayed at the Auto Expo 2023. It can run on a larger variety of ethanol-blended fuel (E20 to E100). The Yamaha FZ 15 ABS flex-fuel motorcycle can run on 100% ethanol.
The Yamaha FZ, 15 ABS flex-fuel motorcycle’s powertrain, has undergone various modifications. The new Yamaha FZ 15 ABS flex fuel motorbike can produce a maximum of 13Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm and 12.4bhp of peak power at 7,500 rpm when using ethanol as fuel.
In contrast, the 149cc single-cylinder, SOHC, 2-valve engine uses gasoline to provide 12.7Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm and 12.2bhp peak power at 7,500 rpm. The previous model in India has a slightly higher peak power rating of 12.4 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 13.3 nm at 5,500 rpm.
The Yamaha FZ 15 ABS flex-fuel motorcycle has a mono-shock at the rear and a 41mm conventional telescopic suspension up front. Its chassis is a tried-and-true diamond frame. Additionally, the new 2023 Yamaha FZ 15 motorcycle has 140/60 R17 tyres on the back and 100/80 R17 tyres up front.
However, on the new Yamaha FZ 15 ABS flex-fuel motorcycle, braking duties are handled by a single 282mm front disc brake and a single 220mm rear disc brake. The new 2023 Yamaha FZ 15 motorcycle also includes single-channel ABS to improve braking performance and safety.
