BMW Motorrad has launched its flagship motorcycle BMW S 1000 RR, in the Indian market. The new 2023 BMW S 1000 RR is now more powerful than its predecessor. It gets aerodynamic upgrades and cosmetic changes that help differentiate the 2023 version from the outgoing model.

BMW S 1000 RR Variants and Price

The new 2023 BMW S 1000 RR motorcycle will be sold in three variants – Standard, Pro, and Pro M Sport. The 2023 BMW S 1000 RR is priced at Rs 20.25 lakh ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 24.45 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant.

BMW S 1000 RR Engine & Power

The new 2023 BMW S 1000 RR motorcycle gets a 999 cc, in-line 4-cylinder engine. This engine now generates maximum power of 206 bhp at 13,750 rpm and a peak torque of 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm. The engine can rev up to 14,600 rpm, which is relatively high. This engine produces 2 bhp more power than before while the torque output remains the same. BMW increased power output by updating the design of the intake funnel and with a new intake geometry. BMW ShiftCam technology and a shorter secondary gear ratio for more traction on the rear wheel.

Talking about the cosmetic changes to the bike includes a new livery. Up top are the winglets that generate up to 10 kg of downforce depending on the rider’s speed. This additional weight helps to counteract the tendency of the wheel to roll during acceleration. Also, the traction control doesn’t need to intervene much. Thus, it helps the rider achieve faster lap times.

The rear section has also been redesigned to make it lighter and sportier. The number plate holder has also become smaller now. As accessories, there is a new humph cover and an endurance seat.

BMW S 1000 RR Features

The standard equipment on the motorcycle has been changed. It now gets a USB charging socket and an M battery as standard. The 6.5-inch TFT screen has more functions and a new rev counter display. The TFT screen can be controlled using the multi-controller on the left handlebar.

The motorcycle comes with ABS Pro but now also gets a brake slide to assist and ABS Pro “sleek” setting functions. The new ‘Slick’ setting is specially designed for treadless slick tyres. The beauty of the new brake slide assist function is that it allows the rider to slide out the back before the system kicks in.
