Delhi-based electric two-wheeler start-up Hop Electric has launched a new high-speed variant of the Leo electric scooter. The ex-showroom price of the new Hop Leo is Rs. 97,000. The company promises a range of 120 km for the high-speed electric scooter.
The Hop Leo electric scooter gets a 2.2 kW (2.9 bhp) BLDC hub electric motor with 72-volt architecture that generates a peak torque output of 90 Nm. The engine uses a sinusoidal FOC vector controller that promises smooth handling and ride. The Hop Leo gets four riding modes – Eco, Power, Sport and Reverse.
The Hop Leo high-speed electric scooter uses a 2.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The company says that using an 850W smart charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in 2.5 hours.
The Leo high-speed electric scooter gets 160 mm of ground clearance, which can easily run over rough roads. With this, it has a loading capacity of 160 kg. The scooter is IP 67/65 rated, making it water and dust resistant. There is also an LCD digital console with a third-party GPS tracker. The scooter has five colour options – Black, White, Grey, Blue and Red.
The Hop Leo electric scooter can easily climb slopes up to 12 degrees. Hardware on the e-scooter includes telescopic forks at the front and spring-loaded hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The Leo gets 90/90/R10 wheels with disc brakes at both the front and rear. This model comes with a combi-braking system and regenerative braking.
