Honda To Launch New 100cc Bike In March; Rival with Splendor

According to an exclusive report, Honda will launch a brand-new 100 cc entry-level motorcycle in the domestic market in March 2023. The vehicle, which has been under development for some time, will go head-to-head with Hero MotoCorp’s best-selling Splendor. Since last year, it has been circulating in rumours.

Atsushi Ogata, President, CEO, and MD of HMSI, stated in an interview that his company would introduce a new 100 cc motorcycle in 2021. Honda is now recording strong sales for the Shine, SP 125, and Unicorn. With a price tag of about Rs. 71,000, the Honda CD 110 is the least expensive motorcycle in the company’s lineup (ex-showroom).

It has a 110 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine similar to the Honda Livo and can produce 9.3 Nm of torque and 8.7 horsepower at a maximum power output of 7,500 rpm. The next 100 cc volume-based motorcycle will likely be positioned underneath them. Next year, Honda will launch its first electric scooter based on the Activa, further foraying into the mainstream market.

On the monthly sales charts, the Honda Activa occasionally replaces the Hero Splendor as the top-selling two-wheeler in the nation right now. The Honda CD 100 is positioned closer to the Splendor Plus, and the new model, aimed at the general public, may be priced lower and have a smaller, more fuel-efficient engine.

The 100 cc commuter will play a big part in helping it increase its market share. According to rumours, Honda is working on a new 125 cc scooter to compete with sporty scooters like the TVS Ntorq 125. The business might increase the number of 350 cc motorcycles it offers to fully compete with Royal Enfield 350 cc motorcycles (bike) in the near future.

Honda just introduced the Activa 6G H-Smart version yesterday. Only the top-spec model of the three available Honda Activa models for 2023 receives the smart key feature. A three-step adjustable rear suspension is also added.
