EV startup DEVOT Motors unveiled an electric bike that gives a 200 km range

Jodhpur-based EV startup DEVOT Motors has unveiled its electric bike at the 2023 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. The company displayed the production-ready prototype of this electric bike at the Auto Expo, equipped with a high-performance 9.5 kW motor. The company claims that the bike’s top speed is 120 km, and it picks up speed very quickly. According to the company, this electric bike ranges 200 km on a single full charge. The bike is fully charged within 3 hours and is ideal for daily commuting and long walks.

The EV startup has set up its R&D (Research and Development) centre in the UK and its development centre in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. While doing research in the UK, the CEO of DEVOT Motors developed an electric motorcycle with a 200 km range, brought it to his hometown of Jodhpur, and formed a startup in India. DEVOT Motors showcased its electric bike at the Auto Expo 2023. The brand targets 70 to 90 per cent localization, with the bike expected to hit Indian roads by mid-2023 post-homologation.

After conducting extensive market research, identifying customer likes and dislikes, developing a wide supplier base, prototyping, and endurance testing, the EV startup is all set to capture the attention of riders who don’t compromise on comfort and performance—talking about the looks, the bike sports an elegant retro design, with excellent paint options for the tank and side cover panels.

For the rider’s convenience, the bike has advanced features like a TFT screen, a keyless system with antitheft and a Type 2 charging point. The Lithium LFP battery supplied by DEVOT Motors will be less affected by problems caused by the depth of discharge. Besides its powerful performance, DEVOT designed the bike with environmental sustainability. With low emissions and energy consumption, EV bikes are a green alternative to conventional petroleum-based motorbikes.

When introducing the product, Varun Dev Panwar, Founder & CEO of DEVOT Motors, said, “As the electric bike market continues to expand, we have designed our vehicle to meet the customers’ needs. Our EV bike is the culmination of our team’s painstaking research and approach to shaping a two-wheeler that functions in extreme conditions and epitomizes sustainability and excellence. With its cutting-edge technology and attractive configuration, we truly believe that it has the potential to revolutionize the electric bike segment. The response we have received so far has been overwhelming, and we cannot wait for the official launch. Furthermore, we would like to thank the Auto Expo management for providing a forum to showcase our product portfolio and raise awareness about EV penetration.”
