Royal Enfield recently introduced the new Super Meteor 650 cruiser motorcycle at the 2022 Rider Mania. This could be the costliest bike from Royal Enfield. The new cruiser will be available for sale in the country in January 2023. The company is going to continue at Super Meteor only. Even after this, many 650cc motorcycles are to be launched. Royal Enfield is all set to expand its 650cc motorcycle range.
Royal Enfield uses its 650 cc platform in the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. It has also been used in the new Super Meteor 650. According to reports, it will also be used in the Shotgun 650, Scrambler 650 and a new adventure bike. Testing of Shotgun 650 and Scrambler 650 is on. At the same time, the engineers of Royal Enfield will have to make some changes in the chassis of the adventure motorcycle.
According to reports, the adventure bike based on the 650 cc platform could get wire-spoke alloy wheels, a signature tall and upright ADV stance, a scooped-out rider seat and a bigger handlebar. The motorcycle will get high ground clearance, upswept high-mounted exhaust and a rear luggage rack. The new bike will weigh more than the Interceptor (around 200 kg) and the Super Meteor (240 kg).
The Royal Enfield Shotgun could be the production version of the SG650 concept (shown at the 2021 EICMA). The SG650 concept featured a bobber-like rider seat, though the production model could get single and twin-seat options. The motorcycle can get retro-styling with a round-shaped headlamp, rearview mirrors and tail lights. It will get alloys and a blacked-out super meteoric exhaust.
Testing of the Scrambler 650 is also in progress. It could get a 2-in-1 exhaust system, which will be a first for RE’s 650cc line-up. The spotted model featured wire-spoke alloy wheels in off-road size, with the front wheel appearing larger than the rear.
