Yamaha Jog E Electric Scooter 2025 – Swappable Battery & 53 km Range

Yamaha Jog E – Yamaha has unveiled the completely new Jog E electric scooter in Japan, which is the brand’s entry into the compact city EV market after the end of the combustion engine-powered Jog. The scooter is meant for practical urban commuting and has a swappable battery pack system that is a result of collaboration between Honda, Suzuki, and Kawasaki. It will first be sold in Tokyo and Osaka prefectures, providing city dwellers with an eco-friendly, easy, and inexpensive mode of transport.

Performance

The Jog E is equipped with a single AC synchronous motor delivering 1.7 kW (2.3 PS) and 90 Nm of torque. It gets its power from a swappable Honda Mobile Power Pack e: battery that has an effective capacity of 1.5 kWh, giving a maximum distance of 53 km per charge. This feature is perfect for commuting in the city every day without the concern of running out of charge. The weight of the scooter along with the battery is 93 kg which is a compact size for easy movement.

Design

The scooter has a simple but new design that consists of flat body panels, LED lighting throughout, a headlamp housing resembling a polygon, round mirrors, and a rear light with indicators placed together in a horizontal manner. It comes in Dark Gray Metallic and Light Gray colors and has a flat floorboard and a seating height of 740 mm as practical features. Stability is guaranteed by the 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels while the combined brake system assures the rider safe stops.

Features

The Yamaha Jog E is equipped with city-oriented, practical features such as a front utility pocket, USB Type-A charging port, under-seat storage, and a large hook for bags. The important riding information is displayed on the inverted LCD screen, and the rider can choose among three ride modes – Econ, Ready, and Speed. The telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers guarantee a smooth ride even on the bumpy city roads.

Price & Availability

The starting price of Yamaha Jog E is 159,500 JPY (approximately Rs 90,000), not including the battery pack, which can be bought separately through Gachaco’s swapping service. The scooter will be officially launched in Japan on December 25, 2025, and it will appeal to the urban rider who favors a convenient, budget-friendly, and eco-friendly commuting option.
