Porsche Cayenne Electric SUV – Formula-E Tech, 1000 HP Power & India Launch Soon

Porsche Cayenne Electric SUV – The plain and simple fact is that Porsche has unwrapped the complete new Cayenne Electric, the company’s second entirely electric SUV and its new global flagship EV. The electric variant of the Cayenne brings forth a range of cutting-edge technologies that straight away come from Porsche’s Formula E program, thereby gearing itself up for being one of the battery-powered luxury SUVs with the least competition in the world. Design

The Cayenne Electric is more of a future car in terms of design and aerodynamics than the one that ran on the classic combustion engine. The car’s front is now neater, with no large air vents having been present at the design’s start, and the profile consequently is also much cleaner. The classic tall headroom has been replaced by a slanting roofline that enhances air flow through the car and thus aids in drag’s efficiency. A more practical 90-litre front trunk also makes it easier to carry stuff. The rear has got LED tail lamps that are connected with the Porsche lettering being illuminated, thus resembling the Taycan’s configuration.

Interior

The interior has been designed in such a way that it will be able to provide a luxury experience of the next generation. The main attraction is the Flow Display, the biggest digital screen in a car that Porsche has ever used, which blends in with the centre console. Accompanying the driver display and the passenger display, the total screen area in the cabin is 87 inches. The rest of the goodies are a panoramic glass roof that can be adjusted in terms of transparency, electronically operated rear seats, mood modes that change the atmosphere through lighting, climate and audio settings, and premium materials throughout the dashboard and seats. Interior customisation will be available through 13 colour themes, four interior packages and five accent packages.

Formula E Technology

The most remarkable enhancement of the Cayenne Electric is the application of Formula E technology from the Porsche 99X racing car. The innovations are the Direct Cooling of the power electronics and motor, the regenerative braking power of up to 600 kW, and the capability of fast charging of 400 kW which makes it possible to charge the battery from 10% to 80% in less than 10 minutes if the charger is compatible. Furthermore, it becomes the first-ever electric car in production to be able to take advantage of 11 kW wireless charging.

Battery, Range

The Cayenne Electric operates on a battery pack of 113 kWh, giving the car a driving range of as much as 600 km (WLTP) depending on the configuration chosen. The electric motor has an output of 1,000 hp, which is a reason why the luxury SUV can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in mere 2.5 seconds and so it is placed into the performance tier of hyper SUVs.

India Launch Timeline

Porsche has yet to give an official announcement regarding the Indian launch date but the industry has high hopes that Cayenne Electric might be available in June twenty-six. Meanwhile, global orders have opened, and the new model will be positioned over the Macan-E and Taycan in Porsche’s India portfolio.
