2026 MG Hector Facelift – Fresh Design, Bigger Features & Major Upgrades Spotted

2026 MG Hector Facelift – MG Motor India is getting ready to launch the upgraded version of the MG Hector 2026, and the new photos taken from a distance have already shown some important enhancements. The company has already geared a meek branding having glorious plans for ICE SUVs again after the EV lineup was supported by Comet EV and ZS EV. The revamped Hector is likely to come with a signature design of better quality with new features and a stronger safety net making it possible to put up a good fight against the likes of Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700.

Exterior

The very first images from the spy camera make the next Hector look like it is still in disguise, but it has still got a few design changes that are easy to spot. The front end will undergo the most significant change with the grille getting a new style and the bumper being designed sharper thus giving The SUV a more modern and self-assured look. It’s hard to tell if the rear bumper has been redesigned or just its facelift made it feel fresh but the 2026 model certainly has not lost its basic shape. Almost all lighting elements, including the LED DRLs, headlamps, and the ADAS radar placement, seem to be the same as in the current model, which indicates that MG is concentrating on refining the old one rather than going for a total redesign.

Interior

A more luxurious feel is promised in the cabin with the arrival of the facelift. The new 14-inch portrait-style infotainment screen with the fastest touch response is going to be the largest upgrade among others. The layout of the dashboard might also be altered to have some physical climat control buttons so that they can be used more easily. These changes are made to the Hector making it more convenient for the users while still delivering a modern cab experience.

Wheels

The mule for testing reveals new 19-inch alloy wheels which are a huge step up from the present model. The fresh set of wheels make the Hector more imposing on the road and enhances its luxury appeal in comparison with its competitors in the segment. Plus, the bigger wheels result in the facelift’s more brawny and opulent appearance.

Engine

It is considered that MG will stick to the same powertrain for the 2026 Hector facelift. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engines will likely be the same, and there might be some changes made with the intention of refining the driving experience as well as improving fuel consumption. The rumor mill also talks about an automatic gearbox being finally made available for the diesel variant, which is precisely what the TG (Technology Group) wanted, and a large number of potential buyers will be attracted to the lineup because of this. As far as the safety aspect is concerned, the facelift is giving the higher-end models of the segment a close to standard position by introducing additional ADAS features. A more comprehensive safety technology arsenal will empower the Hector to fight against the rest in short as well as long-distance drives.

Competitors and Pricing

The refreshed Hector will be a direct competitor to some of the most powerful contenders in the mid-size SUV category. The competition is represented by Tata Harrier, Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700, and these models have established high standards in terms of performance, features, and price. In order to keep the interest of customers, MG is expected to be very wary and price the Hector facelift close to the market. Pricing strategy will be the one that will keep the 2026 model relevant and attractive for those buyers who are searching for a feature-rich and stylish SUV.
