MG Motor 2026: MG Motor is preparing to shake up the Indian SUV market in 2026 with two big updates: a refreshed MG Hector and the all-new MG Majestor. After the Hector’s slowdown in recent years, the company is now testing a second facelift to make the SUV more appealing. Recent spy shots from Halol, Gujarat, show the updated Hector wrapped in partial camouflage, hinting at upcoming cosmetic changes. A new radiator grille, revised bumpers, updated light graphics, and fresh alloy wheels are expected to be part of this update. These upgrades are MG’s attempt to bring back customer interest in the model and keep it competitive in the crowded mid-size SUV category.

Inside the 2026 MG Hector, the changes are expected to be subtle but meaningful. MG may introduce new upholstery, a fresh interior colour theme, and improved trim materials. There could also be small software upgrades to the infotainment system and instrument cluster, making the cabin feel a bit more modern without a complete redesign. However, the engines are likely to remain unchanged. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 2.0-litre turbo-diesel units will continue as before, paired with either a manual gearbox or a CVT option for the petrol variant. These familiar powertrains ensure reliability and performance that existing Hector users already appreciate.

The second major update from MG is the upcoming Majestor, a facelifted version of the MG Gloster showcased at Auto Expo 2025. This SUV brings a much bolder, more aggressive design compared to the outgoing model. A massive front grille, sharp split-headlamp setup, tough bumper styling, and heavy wheel-arch cladding give the Majestor a powerful road presence. Connected tail lamps and six-double-spoke alloy wheels complete the modernised exterior. This refreshed look is aimed at helping MG stand stronger against segment leaders like the Toyota Fortuner.
Inside the MG Majestor, buyers can expect a more premium experience. MG is likely to introduce a redesigned dashboard featuring new AC vents and a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, accompanied by a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The cabin may also get premium comfort upgrades like a ventilated passenger seat and a power tailgate, making long journeys more convenient. These additions show MG’s intent to offer luxury-focused features that match global SUV standards. Level 2 ADAS is another highlight expected to significantly improve the Majestor’s safety package and give it an edge over many competitors.

On the mechanical side, the Majestor is not expected to receive major changes. MG will likely keep the same engine options to maintain the SUV’s strong performance and proven reliability. With the Hector facelift and the Majestor launch, MG Motor aims to rebuild momentum in the Indian market. Both SUVs carry fresh looks, upgraded tech, and enhanced comfort features, setting the stage for a major comeback. These new models could help the brand strengthen its position and appeal to customers looking for modern, feature-rich SUVs.
