MG Hector: MG Motor India is planning a major update for its popular SUV, the Hector, and a facelifted version of the SUV has already been spotted during testing. The Indian subsidiary of the company, JSW MG, has already tasted a lot of success with the electric vehicle (EV) models such as Windsor EV, ZS EV, and Comet EV, and now the brand seems to be dressed for the changeover in the ICE segment. The existing Hector has not been able to meet the market’s anticipation; hence this mid-term update becomes a crucial development.

The latest spy pictures show the usual Hector shape, but both front and rear bumpers are heavily camouflaged. This indicates that there will be significant changes to the design rather than a complete redesign, thus keeping the SUV’s visuals new but still connected to its past. The new Hector is likely to be richer in terms of the interior, especially with features like rear-seat ventilation, a reduced number of physical buttons for an orderly layout, and an enhancement in the responsiveness of the 14-inch infotainment system. Additionally, the carmaker might introduce 19-inch alloy wheels that are new to the model to make it stand out against the competition from the upcoming Tata Sierra.

While the design and equipment will certainly see an upgrade, the mechanical package will probably be unaffected. The SUV is still expected to be powered by a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine with a power output of 141bhp and torque of 250Nm, which is quite reliable, and a 2.0-liter diesel engine making 168bhp and generating 350Nm of torque. These engine choices have been lucrative for the model, and MG seems to be trustful of their continuing.
As the excitement builds up, the MG Hector facelift will most likely be presented at a 2026 event, and thus the brand will be able to offer the customers a more high-end and tech-loaded version of its flagship ICE SUV.
