Maruti Grand Vitara 3-Row: The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has positioned itself very well in the SUV market by utilising the latest Strong-Hybrid technology and giving excellent mileage. Maruti is now working on the Grand Vitara 3-Row, a 7-seater that can pack big Indian families, which will be the next to come in line after the 5-seater. This model is set for a late 2025 or early 2026 launch and it will stretch the Grand Vitara platform while keeping the hybrid powertrain that is highly efficient in terms of fuel consumption. The 3-Row Grand Vitara with more seating, more comfort and excellent fuel savings aspires to be the most economical family SUV in it segment.
Hybrid
The most significant feature of the soon-to-be-released 3-Row variant will be the Strong-Hybrid setup. The existing 5-seater hybrid model is already claiming an ARAI-certified fuel economy of 27.97 kmpl. The vehicle is going to be a little heavier due to the addition of the third row but still, the new model is likely to give around 25 kmpl making it the most fuel-efficient 7-seater petrol SUV in India.

The hybrid setup is made up of a specially designed electric motor together with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that has gone through a lot of refinements. In a slow-moving city traffic situation, the SUV can move in and out by the use of its electric power only, thus, it consumes no petrol at all during a stop-and-go situation. The operator-friendly e-CVT gearbox is another feature that adds to the smoothness and makes the entire driving process hassle-free and suitable for families.
Space
Maruti’s latest offering, the 3-Row Grand Vitara, is designed with the intent to provide maximum comfort and utility. The SUV will be longer than the regular version just to fit in the third row without any hassle. The extra length will also contribute to the creation of more overall space in the cabin, thus providing better legroom for the second-row occupants.
The 3-Row Grand Vitara is supposed to be offered with two different seating arrangements: a 6-seater variant with captain seats and a 7-seater variant with a bench seat. Some cabin features which are going to be there include a panoramic sunroof, an infotainment system with a huge touchscreen, and front seats that are ventilated. All these will be contributive to making the family trips longer but with no less comfort.
Engines
In the case of the 3-Row variant, customers can select from two engine options. The first one is a 1.5-liter mild-hybrid petrol engine that is already known to the consumers. The second option, (hence) more appealing, is the full 1.5-liter Strong-Hybrid petrol engine praised for its remarkable power consumption efficiency.

The hybrid variant is projected to give more than 25 kmpl, which no other 7-seater SUV has offered till now. This makes the hybrid a perfect option for a family who wants to have a big car but not the big fuel expense.
Market
The competitors of Grand Vitara 3-Row will be the likes of Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari. But none of these rivals come with a full hybrid powertrain, so this leaves Maruti with a significant advantage regarding running cost and efficiency.
An estimated price range of ₹14 lakh to ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom) makes it a strong contender for the title of the most value-for-money vehicle in the premium 7-seater market.
Launch
It is anticipated that Maruti will present this SUV towards the end of 2025, and the official launch will happen shortly after that. The 3-Row Grand Vitara will fortify Maruti’s position in the family-SUV segment by providing contemporary technology, luxury comfort, and unequaled fuel efficiency.
