Honda Amaze – The third-generation Honda Amaze has been awarded a full 5-star rating by the Bharat NCAP test, which is a great recognition of its safety features in the segment of sub-compact sedans. This rating is valid for all variants V, VX, and ZX—irrespective of manual or CVT options. The Amaze was able to get five stars for Adult Occupant Protection and four stars for Child Occupant Protection, thereby qualifying as one of the safest cars in its segment.
The Amaze scored a good 28.33 out of 32 points in the Adult Occupant Protection category. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the head and neck were given good protection while the chest, knees, and lower legs were provided with moderate protection. The side movable deformable barrier test indicated that the head and lower body received strong protection; however, the chest area did not fare quite as well. The separate side-pole test also validated that adult occupants are well protected in side impacts.
Amaze has been awarded a remarkable 40.81 out of 49 points for Child Occupant Protection. The assessment comprised dynamic crash testing of the rear-facing ISOFIX seats attached to the 18-month and 3-year-old dummies. The younger dummy was given 7.81 out of 8 in the frontal impact test and 4 out of 4 in the side impact test, while the older child was credited full points in both tests. The vehicle moreover won a perfect score for child seat fitting, which signified that the safety design for the younger occupants of the car is really good.
Honda has provided the Amaze with a complete safety package that is standard for all the variants. The standard safety features are six airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners that come with load limiters, three-point seatbelts for every person on board, head restraints for the front and rear seat rows, rear parking sensors, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), brake assist, a brake-override system, Vehicle Stability Assist, hill-start assist, and an emergency stop signal. Thus, the Amaze grants safety to the maximum extent for all adults and kids, since it is the product of the convergence of comfort, practicality, and safety of the highest quality.
