Renault Duster 2026 – India Launch Set for January with Rugged New Look

Renault Duster 2026 – The Renault Duster is back in India in its new form, and the audience is surely going wild. The date for the official unveiling has been announced as 26th January 2026, but prior to that, the SUV has been sighted once again while it was being tested. The most recent image captured by auto lover Gaoutham shows the model in India from all angles, indicating that the Indian version has the same great road presence as the international one, which is the Dacia Duster.

Design

The first thing that catches the eye in the new-gen Duster is the gigantic and sporty design. The SUV with heavy camouflage still looks very impressive due to its defined contours and powerful stance. The test car is just out of Renault’s Chennai factory and is properly camouflaged for road testing. The majority of the outer parts are the same as the European model, which is a great sign for the customers expecting a contemporary and rugged SUV.

The new Duster will have Y-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights, a stylish polygonal headlamp, and a tough-looking bumper in the front. The grille is likely to have large and bold RENAULT lettering. The side view has polygonal wheel arches, robust body cladding, roof rails, and a distinctive C-pillar-mounted rear door handle. Although the alloy wheel design for the Indian version may vary, the SUV still exudes a strong and daring aura. A sporty spoiler, a deeply recessed number plate area, and Y-shaped LED tail lamps are features at the back, but these were not very clear due to the camouflage.

Interior

Indian buyers might get a pleasant surprise from the new Duster. The pictures of the camouflaged car hinted at the possibility of a triple-screen dashboard, a feature not available in the international variants. This new configuration could be a result of the Indian market where buyers are looking for more technology in the car’s interiors. If this feature goes into the production phase, the Duster will be the star of its class just like the new Tata Sierra, which recently also offered such a technology.

The international version of the Duster is equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless phone mirroring, dual-zone air conditioning, and over-the-air updates. The safety features are 6 airbags, ESC, rear camera, parking sensors, and an ADAS package. The version also has a 3-star rating from Euro NCAP. For India, Renault might offer the model with a few more features or modify them to suit local tastes and to compete with other brands.

Engine

With regards to performance, the new Duster will be available initially with a petrol engine. Strong hybrid variants will be introduced later, thus making the Duster one of the few SUVs in this segment to come with a hybrid option. Renault may also launch a CNG model like the LPG option offered worldwide.

Competition

When the new-generation Renault Duster is released, it will compete in the increasingly crowded 4.2m to 4.4m SUV category and will challenge the competition in terms of its attractive design and updated features. The expected price will be below ₹11 lakh, which will make it an excellent choice for buyers who want a stylish, robust, and modern SUV.
