The XEV 9S, intended as the electric twin of the highly popular XUV700, comes not only with a new design language but also with multiple battery options, impressive performance figures, and a plethora of luxury features. Mahindra asserts that the SUV, priced at Rs 29.45 lakh for its top variant, can compete with the super-expensive electric models of the likes of Rs 80 lakh plus, because of its remarkable performance and interior comfort.

Exterior

The Mahindra XEV 9S is the latest electric vehicle from the brand and showcases a design that gives priority to aerodynamics and futuristic looks. The front end of the vehicle features a chic closed grille along with the characteristic L-shaped LED daytime running lights and vertically aligned projector lamps, thus giving the SUV a sharp and contemporary look. Additionally, the full rear LED light bar not only boosts its visibility on the street but also its differentiation from cars with internal combustion engines (ICE). The XEV 9S’s premium status as a futuristic electric SUV is further corroborated by flush-mounted door handles, aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, and aesthetic yet utilitarian roof rails.

Interior

The interior of the XEV 9S is dominated by a cabin that is built for the utmost comfort, and technology, as well as space management. One of the main features of the interior is the Mahindra’s triple-screen dashboard layout that provides the driver and the front-seat passenger with a wide modern view experience. The large sunroof further draws in the natural light that is already brightening the cabin and simulating the true luxury feeling, while the top audio system from Harman Kardon is the one that lifts the in-car entertainment experience up to a new level. The reclining second-row seats and a well-thought-out third row make the cabin suitable for families.

Mahindra has made the XEV 9S available in three variants, one of which is the performance-oriented version with the highest battery pack, which has a capacity of 79 kWh.
